What is the Crownfall Collector's Cache?

The Collector's Cache is Dota 2's flagship cosmetic treasure. Each year the community votes on which Workshop sets make the cut, and the winners are bundled into a treasure you unlock with real money. The 2026 edition landed alongside Crownfall Act III and contains 16 hero sets chosen by players — with the Juggernaut and Pudge sets the early crowd favourites.

Every set is Collector's Cache exclusive: it can only come from the treasure while the event runs, which is what gives these items lasting value on the market once the cache retires.

How much does it cost?

Treasures are sold in the in-game store for $2.49 each, or $28.99 for a bundle of 13 — a small discount for opening in bulk. Each treasure gives you one random set from the pool, plus a chance at the rarer bonus items that also live in the cache.

How to get the sets

  • Buy treasures directly. The simplest route — purchase from the store and open immediately.
  • Earn through Crownfall. The Crownfall event and its Candy Shop hand out rewards you can spend on cache-related items as you complete the map.
  • Buy the exact set on the market. Once players start unboxing, individual sets appear on the Steam Community Market and third-party marketplaces — so you can skip the gamble and buy precisely the one you want.

Is the Collector's Cache worth opening?

It depends entirely on timing. Right after release, supply is thin and set prices on the market often sit above the $2.49 open cost — so opening can be slightly profitable. As millions of treasures are opened, sets flood the market and prices fall below cost, at which point buying the specific set you want is cheaper than gambling on a random one.

The honest way to decide is the math, not the hype. Our treasure & cache calculator takes the $2.49 price and the live set values and tells you your expected profit or loss per open — after the Steam fee — so you never open on a hunch.

Where to buy or sell cache sets

If you're buying a specific set or selling one you unboxed, the Steam Community Market is the safest venue, but it pays only Steam Wallet credit. To turn a set into real money you'll want a third-party marketplace — compare fees and payout on our markets page.

Frequently asked questions

How much does the Crownfall Collector's Cache 2026 cost?

Treasures are $2.49 each in the Dota 2 store, or $28.99 for a bundle of 13. Each treasure gives one random set from the 16 voted sets, plus a chance at rarer bonus items.

How many sets are in the 2026 Collector's Cache?

Sixteen hero sets, chosen by community vote, released with Crownfall Act III. The Juggernaut and Pudge sets were early standouts among players.

Is it worth opening the Collector's Cache?

Usually only right after release, when set prices on the market sit above the $2.49 open cost. Once supply floods the market, most sets drop below cost and buying the exact set you want becomes cheaper than opening random treasures. Use a treasure EV calculator to check with live prices.

Can I sell Collector's Cache sets for real money?

Cache sets are tradable once unboxed, so you can sell them on the Steam Community Market for Steam Wallet credit, or on a reputable third-party marketplace for real cash — accepting the extra fees and the need to trust a venue outside Steam.

When does the Collector's Cache leave the store?

Collector's Cache treasures are event-limited and retire when the event window closes. After that, the only way to get a set is to buy it from another player on the market, where prices tend to rise again as supply dries up.
