The headline reward: the Collector's Cache

Crownfall's biggest draw is the 16-set Collector's Cache. See the sets, the price, and whether opening beats buying.

What is Crownfall?

Crownfall is a large, multi-act event built around an explorable overworld map. You progress through the story by completing in-game tasks, unlocking new regions act by act — the latest, Act III: The Frosts of Icewrack, adds a frozen northern map with fresh challenges. Along the way you earn Candy, the event currency that powers every reward.

The Candy Shop

Candy you collect is spent in the Candy Shop, where rewards are pulled via a reroll system. You spend Candy to reroll the available prizes — from cosmetic sets to treasures and, at the top end, Arcanas. The catch is the odds: reaching an Arcana through the shop takes roughly 160 rerolls, so the "free" Arcana is a serious grind. For most players, the store price or the market is the faster route.

How Crownfall moves the item economy

Events like Crownfall are the supply engine of the whole market. When a Collector's Cache releases, thousands of new sets pour into circulation, prices dip, and the biggest price movers of the month are almost always event items. Weeks later, as the cache retires and supply stops, the rarer sets climb again. Understanding this cycle is how collectors buy low and avoid overpaying — the mechanics are broken down in the treasures guide.

Should you chase the Arcana?

If a Crownfall Arcana is the goal, do the math before you grind. Around 160 rerolls of Candy is a large time investment, and Arcanas bought from the store are a fixed $35. Whether the grind is "worth it" comes down to how much you value your time versus the cash — the same trade-off we cover in are Dota 2 Arcanas worth it.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Crownfall event in Dota 2?

Crownfall is a story-driven event with an explorable, multi-act overworld map. Players complete tasks to progress, unlock new regions, and earn Candy — the event currency spent in the Candy Shop on cosmetic rewards, treasures and Arcanas.

How do you get an Arcana from Crownfall?

Arcanas are available through the Candy Shop reroll system, but reaching one takes roughly 160 rerolls of Candy — a substantial grind. Many players find buying the Arcana from the store ($35) or the market faster than grinding the shop.

What rewards does Crownfall give?

Crownfall rewards range from cosmetic sets and treasures to the flagship Collector's Cache (16 community-voted sets) and, at the top, Arcanas — all obtained by spending Candy earned as you complete the event map.

How does Crownfall affect Dota 2 item prices?

Events are the market's supply engine. A Collector's Cache release floods the economy with new sets and pushes prices down short-term; as the cache retires and supply stops, rarer sets climb again. Event items dominate the biggest price movers during and after the event.
