Dota 2 Candy Shop: Drop Chances & Reroll Odds

How the Crownfall Candy Shop reroll system works, what it really costs to reach an Arcana, and when the grind beats just buying.

The Candy Shop is where every reward you earn in Crownfall is actually cashed in. You collect Candy by completing tasks on the event map, then spend it in the shop through a reroll system — and understanding how that system prices its top rewards is the difference between a smart grind and a wasted one.

Do the event math before you grind

Candy rewards are only worth what the market says. Check live values and the open-vs-buy math first.

How the reroll system works

Rather than a simple shelf of fixed-price items, the Candy Shop offers a rotating selection you influence by rerolling. Each reroll spends Candy to swap what is on offer, and the headline rewards — full sets, treasures and, at the very top, Arcanas — sit behind long odds. That means the "price" of a big reward is not a single number; it is the expected amount of Candy you will burn through rerolls before it appears.

What an Arcana really costs

The number that shocks most players: reaching an Arcana through the Candy Shop takes roughly 160 rerolls on average. That is a serious grind of event tasks to bank enough Candy. Compare it to the fixed alternatives — an Arcana from the in-game store is a flat $35, and older Arcanas trade on the market across a wide band (see retired and most expensive Arcanas). For a lot of players, the store or the market is simply faster than the shop.

Expected value, not luck

Because the shop is odds-based, think in expected value, the same way you would with a treasure. A single lucky reroll can hand you the jackpot early; an unlucky run can blow past the average. Over many rerolls you converge on the mean — and the mean is priced so the shop keeps a margin. The same logic that governs unboxing governs the Candy Shop, which is exactly what our treasure & cache calculator is built to model.

When the grind is worth it

  • You are playing anyway. If you enjoy the Crownfall map and earn Candy as a byproduct, the rewards are effectively free time-value. Grind on.
  • You want a specific Arcana fast. Buy it. $35 from the store beats ~160 rerolls of pure grinding if your time has any value.
  • You want to flip. Cache sets you win can be sold — check whether the market value beats the Candy you would spend, using live prices.

The bottom line

The Candy Shop is generous if you treat its rewards as a bonus for playing, and expensive if you treat it as a shop with fixed prices. Know the reroll cost, price the reward on the open market, and decide with numbers — never on the hope of a lucky pull. For the full event picture, start with the Crownfall guide.
